Tour de France is coming...

On Sunday 6th July the Tour de France race will pass right by our door - it's really exciting and we have a lot planned. There's lots of parking and camping around Langsett here's what we know so far:

We are serving food all day on Friday,  Saturday and Sunday. We will be open early (very early!) on Sunday for breakfast

Polaris bikewear are on our lawn all weekend running a turbo bike competition in aid of Children in Need - so come along and have a go. They will also have a big screen showing all the thrills and spills of the big race.

We also have our new "Pie Shack" on the lawn, complete with the "handlebar" serving real ale and endless word puns!

Here's how the weekend shapes up...

Friday 4th

On Friday evening we are having a special showing for LiFF (Langsett Film Festival) - with a programme on the theme of sports (mostly from Yorkshire) from our extensive archive as well as films provided by Polaris. This is a FREE event, but there is limited space, seating can be reserved if you are dining with us.

Saturday 5th

From 7.30pm until Midnight (when the roads close!) - we have live music in the Polaris Marquee, with a pie supper (our best selling Meat & Potato pie with mushy peas and red cabbage), £7.50 per person

Sunday 6th

We are serving food all day.  We are open early (very early!) on Sunday for breakfast. Serving coffee, tea, bacon butties and the like from 6am - for all those keen folk passing on there way to a to get a good spot on the route!

Pedalers Inn - Polaris Bikewear and students from Leeds Metropolitan University have worked with us to re-imagine the pub giving it a vintage cycling look. For this momentous event, we'll making the pub all bike themed. Polaris will be setting up camp on our lawn - with a marquee, big a screen and dispalys of cool bike wear. Watch this space for more info...

The countdown begins....

 

Bunting - Vanda and the gang have been knitting bunting since January 2013! Luckily an event has come along worthy of it and they are steadly coving the pub with colourful handknitted and crocheted triangles (and any other shape that comes to mind). These creations have caught the eye of many and so far featured on the BBC news and in most local papers...
